Team Crusaders

Saint Ann students also enjoy the opportunity to excel outside of the classroom. Student athletes learn fundamental skills in athletics while practicing good sportsmanship and school spirit. Fostering healthy life habits is an important component of our approach to educating children. In addition participating on any of our various sports teams, Saint Ann students receive ninety minutes of Physical and Health Education each week. Our school is also a proud partner of the Farm to School, Faith In Place, and 7 Generations Ahead – all nonprofits whose missions include teaching young children about responsible and healthy use of Earth’s food resources.

Soccer

Saint Ann expanded its soccer program in the 2007-2008 school year to include boys and girls teams for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Basketball

5-8 grade girls and boys have the opportunity to participate in basketball.  This year, for the first time in decades, Saint Ann hosted games and our JV girls were able to enjoy a home court advantage that helped them earn the title of League Champions!

Volleyball

Saint Ann does not currently participate in a volleyball league but there is a 6-8 grade girls team.  The team participates in an 8-week clinic learning the fundamentals of the game, scrimmaging, and ultimately playing in a  recreational tournament.

Girls On The Run and Girls On Track

For the 4th year, girls in our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes have participated in the Girls on the Run Program. Girls on the Run© is a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. It addresses all aspects of girls’ development and encourages their physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual well-being. The girls train every week for over two months and then run in a 5K race with a family member, friend, or coach.

Last year, we expanded the program to include the 6th-8th grade Girls on Track Program. Our older students now have the opportunity to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. Like Our Girls on the Run runners, these young women train twice a week for more than 2 months and then run in a 5K race with a family member, friend, or coach.

Boys Running Club

After the many requests by the boys of Saint Ann, we are proud to offer a Boys Running Club.  Ms. Sullican (4th Grade) has generously volunteered to coach the boys.  They train twice a week in preparation for their own 5K race - the Alivio 5K on May 22.  Good luck boys!
