  Our 6th graders have had a busy start to the school year.  Their first science experiment was  making ice cream (a tremendous success).  We hope to continue to have a lot of interactive science throughout the year.  Currently, the students are tracking weather data and data on the moon cycle.  This information will be turned into a math graphing project. 

   

  Our first writing project will be to write a fractured fairy tale where the villain becomes the hero of the story or another plot twist occurs.  The sixth grade class is very creative and I can't wait to see the results.

  Ms. G lives in Oak Park but was born in Bay City, Michigan. She has four children, Brenna, Patrick, Griffin, and Michael. She holds a BA in economics from Georgetown, an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago, and teacher certification from Dominican University. When Ann’s third child was born, she started courses toward teaching math in middle school, but was sidetracked into teaching at the college level. Before teaching at Saint Ann, she taught economics, finance, and business policies at Dominican University. Ann is in her fifth year at Saint Ann.

  Dear Sixth Grade Families;

   

  My name is Abel Figueroa.  I will be the classroom supervisor for the Sixth Graders in the Padrinos and Madrinas program.  I am a father of two great children; my son is in sixth grade and my daughter is in fourth.  I will be working closely with the teacher, Ms. Goddeyne, to keep you up-to-date with the news and events in the classroom.

  Mi nombre es Abel Figueroa, voy a ser el supervisor de la aula de sexto grado del programa de Padrinos Y madrinas. Soy padre de dos hijos extraordinarios, mi hijo asisten en el  sexto y mi hija asiste en cuarto grado. Voy a estar trabajando en estrecha colaboración con la profesora Sra. Ann Goddiyne. para mantenerlo informado de las buenas noticias y eventos del salón de su hijo e hija.
