Team Crusaders

Saint Ann students also enjoy the opportunity to excel outside of the classroom. Student athletes learn fundamental skills in athletics while practicing good sportsmanship and school spirit. Fostering healthy life habits is an important component of our approach to educating children. In addition participating on any of our various sports teams, Saint Ann students receive ninety minutes of Physical and Health Education each week. Our school is also a proud partner of the Farm to School, Faith In Place, and 7 Generations Ahead – all nonprofits whose missions include teaching young children about responsible and healthy use of Earth’s food resources.

Soccer

Saint Ann expanded its soccer program in the 2007-2008 school year to include boys and girls teams for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. For the fall 2008 season, both our 5th-8th grade boys and girls teams placed 3rd in the Near West Soccer League. Go Crusaders!

Girls on the Run and Girls on Track

For the 3rd year, girls in our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes have participated in the Girls on the Run Program. Girls on the Run© is a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. It addresses all aspects of girls’ development and encourages their physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual well-being. The girls train every week for over two months and then run in a 5K race with a family member, friend, or coach.

This year our 6th-8th grade girls had the opportunity to join Girls on Track. Our older students now have the opportunity to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. Like Our Girls on the Run runners, these young women train twice a week for more than 2 months and then run in a 5K race with a family member, friend, or coach.

Saint Ann teachers, mentors, family members and students prepare for the 5K race at Toyota Park on November 15th!
