To the St. Ann Community:August 1, 2020

We at St. Ann School remain committed to educating the whole child – mind, body, and spirit. We remain committed to developing students who serve others, are leaders of their learning, and love one another as Christ does. At St. Ann, we believe we learn better together. And we are committing to resuming in person classes this fall.

This will take tremendous planning and teamwork to ensure to the best of our ability the safety of our students and staff, and planning is already underway. We will continue to consult with medical professionals, consider multiple learning spaces, and develop contingency plans for students, and staff who are unable or uncomfortable with in-person instruction.

I am certain and completely confident that our teachers, our staff, and our school community will develop and engage in a plan that is right for our students.

The Archdiocese of Chicago will support St. Ann in ensuring that correct and comprehensive measures are taken to make the safety of our students the top priority.

Included below and linked here is the Archdiocese of Chicago’s recently released Parent FAQ that addresses the specifics of the current reopening plan for this fall.

St. Ann will continue to work with its own Advisory Committee of safety & health professionals this summer, in addition to those from the Archdiocese of Chicago, to create the necessary protocols in preparation for students re-entering the classroom safely. We will also develop contingency plans for students, and staff who are unable to continue with in-person instruction.
