About Ms. Sylvia

Hi Saint Ann families! My name is Ms. Silvia and this is my fourth year working at St. Ann. In the past 3 years, I had been Mrs. Swanson assistant in Pre-K Red.  This year, I was promoted to  Spanish teacher.

I graduated from Long Island University, New York in 2013. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Education and I am working on my Transition Bilingual Certification. I have over ten years of experience working as a teacher and assistant in different daycare and preschool settings. I am married and I have two beautiful daughters. My oldest is 14 yrs. and my youngest is 9 yrs. I was born and raised in Spain, so I speak Spanish fluently.  In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, watch movies and read. I am very excited to be working another year at Saint Ann and meet our new students and their families.

About Spanish Class

In class we cover a variety of topics to practice our listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills.  Curricula is aligned with the ACTFL “I Can” Statements that make language user focused and relevant to the learner.  The younger students work with thematic units to learn new vocabulary.  The older students focus on grammar skills to prepare them for high school Spanish.
